I discuss the importance of receiving ancestral blessings and "mikoba" before elders pass away.

The Passing of Ancestral Wisdom

I start by reflecting on the passing of a grandfather who recently died after finally remembering and naming his grandmother. This wasn't just a coincidence; many elders are simply waiting for the right moment to pass on their spiritual "bags" (knowledge and authority) and give their final word so they can depart in peace, leaving their power to the younger generation.

A Critique of Modern Urban Life

I see many of you stuck in the city, consuming fast food like chips and soda, which I believe is draining your natural strength. I’m concerned that this lifestyle, combined with a lack of spiritual grounding, leads to a cycle of physical weakness and unplanned pregnancies that people then try to "fix" with pills, only adding more burdens to their lives.

Returning to Your Roots

My message is clear: return to your villages and your origins. The "temple" is now open, and everyone has the innate authority and ability to connect with their heritage. If you have the will, you have the power to establish your own spiritual foundation and reconnect with the path of your ancestors.

Building Your Own Altar

I want you to understand that you can open your own altar and perform your own rituals. You do not need to rely on a "colonizer" or an outsider to mediate your connection to the spiritual world. Your spiritual growth should be direct and personal, rooted in your own bloodline and traditions.

My Journey Through Formal Religion

I speak from experience, having spent ten years in Islamic studies, complete with certificates. However, I have learned that the spirit of the ancestors (Mangi) does not show favoritism based on these formal religious titles. This spiritual truth has been placed in every nation and every tribe; it is universal and not the property of any one imported religion.

Rejecting Colonial Spiritual Narratives

If we aren't careful, we end up following a "God" brought to us by colonizers—the same ones who took our land and brought diseases like HIV and cancer. It is foolish to accept a spiritual path from the very sources that have historically caused us harm. We must reclaim our own divinity.
